Celebrations on the 90th anniversary of the ER ISHS

On March 29, Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University celebrated an important historical event – the 90th anniversary of the Educational and Research Institute of Social and Humanitarian Sciences.

The event began with the National Anthem of Ukraine and gratitude to the courageous defenders, for whom “We will lay down our soul and body for our freedom” is not just words, but also a state of mind. History students and staff are among thousands of students, teachers, employees and graduates are defending our Motherland today in the hottest spots, so the enemy has no chance.

The chairman of the Academic Council of the University, academician of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, as well as a graduate of the famous “History Faculty” in 1982, Vitalii KURYLO, spoke with congratulatory words. He told interesting facts from the history of the dynamic development of “History Faculty”, reminded about its traditions that still live to this day, emphasized the invincible and optimistic spirit of students and wished further development and prosperity to the leading structural subdivision of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.

During the 90 years of life of the now Educational and Research Institute of Social and Humanitarian Sciences, famous teachers, outstanding scientists, historians, public figures with world names came out of its walls, and each of them continues to create history with their new victories, achievements and everyday work of our country and native history.

The Director of the ER ISHS, Doctor of Political Sciences, Associate Professor Anton BADER made a solemn speech. During the video presentation, Anton Vasylovych noted not only scientific and educational achievements, but also the values and traditions that still live in the hearts of those who studied at the History Faculty, talked about interesting moments from the lives of teachers and students of the Institute, ending his speech with heartfelt wishes and greetings on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of History Faculty.

Graduates of the Faculty also spoke with congratulations and words of gratitude. After receiving diplomas, they return a year later and share their achievements, unexpected stories, and this is another wonderful tradition of the institute.

In his speech, Volodymyr MOROZ, the head of the Primary Trade Union Organization of the university, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor, another history specialist and organizer of the “League of Laughter” at LTSNU, noted the history specialists as creative and talented people who continue traditions, revive the forgotten, and create new ones.

At the jubilee meeting, the teachers of the Educational and Research Institute of Social and Humanitarian Sciences were awarded certificates for conscientious work, high professionalism, high-quality training of specialists and significant personal contribution to the development of higher education. Employees were awarded by the head of the trade union for their active work in protecting labor and socio-economic rights and interests of trade union members and preserving and strengthening the trade union organization itself.

“Living legend” of the “golden age of History Faculty” – Leonid Tsezarevych Vakhovskyi, who headed “History Faculty” since 2001, presented a song for the 90th anniversary of the Educational and Research Institute of Social and Humanitarian Sciences. 

Those present watched historical footage of a video film about the Olvia family. During the holiday, everyone was able to enjoy the magic of music, magical singing and rhythmic dances by the students of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National Institute.

The Educational and Research Institute of Social and Humanitarian Sciences has turned the 90th page of the annals of its life – the life of one of the oldest educational subdivisions of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University. Let this anniversary be another step on the way to new achievements and preservation of what makes the institute special.

Let the glorious traditions continue to live and develop, and the entire university family will help write new pages in the history of the ER ISHS – the legendary History Faculty.
