The Director of the ER ISHS, Doctor of Political Sciences, Associate Professor Anton Bader held an interesting open lecture on the topic “Impact of the coup d’état on the political process” for students of the Institute.
The lecture considered various aspects of the issue of coup d’états, including theoretical foundations and specific examples from various political systems. The lecturer deeply analyzed the theoretical foundations of the problem, revealing key concepts and approaches that help understand the impact of a coup d’état on political processes. He drew attention to the relationship between political structures and social processes, which become essential in conditions of political instability.
In the core of the world-economy, at a certain period of the hegemony’s life cycle, states appear that reproduce the structure of the world-empire and try to compete for leadership. “Researcher I. Wallerstein calls Napoleonic France during the formation of the English hegemony and Germany during the formation of the US hegemony as such states. It is obvious that the French and German empires differed significantly from the previous historical systems,” noted Anton Bader.
Special attention was paid to the consideration of the coup d’état in the political systems of the center, the semi-periphery zone, and the periphery. Anton Vasylovych investigated the difference in the mechanisms and consequences of the coup in different geopolitical contexts, which allowed us to understand its role in the formation of the political landscape.
The participants of the lecture had the opportunity to better understand the complexity and variety of processes related to the coup d’état, which will contribute to their better analysis and forecasting of political processes in the future.
