Participation in the forum of the Consumer Assembly of Ukraine

The Departments of Commodity Research and Entrepreneurship took part in the forum of the Consumer Assembly of Ukraine “Consumers – Business – State: Effective Interaction”.

Every year on March 15, the consumer movement and other influential actors come together to celebrate World Consumer Rights Day to raise global awareness, protection and empowerment of consumer rights. That is why, on March 15, 2024, on the occasion of World Consumer Rights Day 2024, bachelor’s students and master’s students of the educational program “Commodity Science and Expertise in Customs Affairs” and scientific and pedagogical staff of the Department of Commodity Research and Entrepreneurship of the Educational and Research Institute of Technologies and Trade (ER ITT) of the Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University joined the participation online in the forum of the Consumer Assembly of Ukraine “Consumers – Business – State: Effective Interaction”: panel session 1. Realities of development consumer market under martial law conditions; panel session 2. Digitalization. Consumer and artificial intelligence (forum program).

Nataliia Volodymyrivna Omelchenko (Professor of the Department of Commodity Research, Trade Entrepreneurship and Product Expertise of LTSNU, Chair of the Board, Chief Expert of the NGO “Research Center “Independent Expertise”) presented a case from the NGO “Research Center “Independent Expertise” , Ph.D., Professor) and focused the attention of those present on the urgent need to protect consumer rights in our country, introduced the acquired experience in consumer rights protection of the public organization headed by her and outlined the tasks of the public community, professionals, students, in particular, commodity experts in the development of a civilized Ukrainian market of goods and services, where trust, responsibility, interaction between consumers, state and business will prevail.

We are very grateful to the organizers of the State University of Trade and Economics, the Head Office of the State Production and Consumer Service in Kyiv, the All-Ukrainian Federation of Consumers “PULS” and the speakers for: the opportunity to participate in the forum, involvement in promoting the use of fair and trustworthy artificial intelligence for everyone on this planet; increasing competence in relation to global challenges for consumers in 2024, problems and ways of solving them in compliance with legislation on the protection of consumer rights, changes in legislation on the safety and quality of food products, digitalization in retail, protection of personal data of consumers in conditions of digitalization.

Systematic participation in such events (in particular, guarantors of educational programs, internal stakeholders, recipients of the EP “Commodity research and expertise in customs affairs”) is a guarantee of updating the content of education on the basis of scientific achievements and modern practices and priorities of external stakeholders, clarification of program learning outcomes, taking into account needs stakeholders, and labor market trends.
