Guest lecture

On March 11, a guest lecture “Right-hemisphere drawing as a neuropsychological tool for the development of general functional processes in children with special needs” was held at the ER IPP. 

Students of the first (bachelor’s) and second (master’s) level of higher education, specialty 016 Special Education; educational programs 016.02 Oligophrenopedagogy. Special psychology; 016.01 Speech therapy. Special psychology, full-time and extramural forms of education, as well as teachers of the Department of Special Education attended a guest lecture by Roman SYLKO, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Art Disciplines of the T.H. Shevchenko National University “Chernihiv Collegium”.

Roman Mykolayovych successfully and informatively in the technological aspect provided relevant issues of successful implementation of practical tasks of teaching and raising children with special educational needs in the conditions of an inclusive environment, in particular, optimization of remedial education not only thanks to the interdisciplinary connections of special pedagogy with the sciences of medicine, psychology , neuropsychological fields, but also art. The acquired special theoretical knowledge of students was successfully focused by the lecturer on the necessity and expediency of using visual art tools built according to the laws of the brain organization of the processes of cognition of the surrounding and inner world of emotions in working with children with special needs, which is valuable in the practice of complex correctional assistance for this category of children.

At the final stage of the guest lecture, the communication between students and teachers of the department ended with enthusiastic feedback and gratitude to Roman Mykolayovych for scientific approaches, regarding new creative approaches in solving the problems of remedial education and raising children with special educational needs by means of fine arts.

The team of teachers and students of special education expressed their desire and confidence in the continuation of cooperation, the introduction of new forms of lecture communication for the intensification of the educational process, the development of personal qualities, and the realization of the creative abilities of students.
