LTSNU is 103 years old!

Celebrations were held on the occasion of the 103rd anniversary of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.

On March 1, 2024, celebrations were held on the occasion of the 103rd anniversary of the founding of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, which began with a festive meeting of the Academic Council.

The event was attended by: the head of the Academic Council – Vitalii KURYLO, the Rector of the University – Olena KARAMAN, the head of the Primary Trade Union Organization Volodymyr MOROZ, vice-chancellors, directors of educational and scientific institutes, directors of separate structural subdivisions, heads of departments, scientific and pedagogical workers, students and the Chairman of the Supervisory Council, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Oleksii DNIPROV, as well as the honored guests: Lubny Mayor – Oleksandr HRYTSAIENKO, Head of the Lubny District Military Administration – Serhii SIRIACHENKO, Head of the Lubny District Council – Tetiana Kachanenko, Colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Honorary Doctor of LTSNU – Dmytro KRYVOBOK, Colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine – Oleksandr LABENOK, Head of the Luhansk Regional Organization of the Trade Union of Education and Science Workers of Ukraine – Serhii SEVRIUK, Head of the Lubny District Organization of the Trade Union of Education and Science Workers of Ukraine – Liudmyla Hrytsaienko and other honorary representatives of the authorities of the Lubny community and district. 

The ceremonial meeting of the Academic Council of LTSNU was held by the Chairman of the Academic Council, First Vice-Rector, Academician of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Vitalii KURYLO, at which those present heard his report and the report of the rector of the university, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Olena KARAMAN, which included information about the historical past and present of the educational institution, as well as great losses and new gains.

In times of war, when danger and uncertainty pervade every aspect of our lives, the university becomes not only a place of learning, but also an important center of unity, a symbol of hope and resilience. The purposefulness of the University finds response and support from the public, so it was nice to hear the warm words of honored guests, friends who came to congratulate, support and strengthen the belief that our common dreams, plans, commonwealth and cooperation will become a reality.

In this difficult period, the university became a bastion of stability of scientists, teachers, and students who united their efforts to withstand the war. The university staff and students with a strong fighting spirit, took up arms and defended their land from the first days of the great invasion of the Rashists. The best gave their lives, but their dreams, their ideals, faith and devotion live in every heart that fights for a free Ukraine. The memory of those who not only dreamed of our future, but also gave their lives for it, for the independence of our country, was honored with a moment of silence and words of gratitude for the fact that in the most difficult and tragic time for our Ukraine, they give us the opportunity to learn and work. The common memory of the heroes has become the fire of Victory, which burns in the heart of everyone!

On this solemn day, there were many awards of certificates from the Executive Committee of the Lubny City Council, the Lubny District Military Administration, the Central Committee of the Trade Union of Education and Science Workers of Ukraine, and University Certificates.

Nevertheless, it should be noted the awards for conscientious study, scientific achievements, active participation in public life, personal contribution to the formation of a positive image and on the occasion of the 103rd anniversary of the founding of LTSNU and the awarding of the honorary title “The Best Student of LTSNU – 2024” to Kyrylo IVANOV, the first-year master’s student majoring in “Secondary Education” of the educational program “Physical Culture” of the ER IHCS. Congratulations and proud of our student!

The final chord of the University Day celebrations was the presentation of Master’s diplomas – this is the moment when years of hard work, the search for knowledge and self-improvement receive their reward. Master’s diplomas were awarded by the head of the Academic Council of the university, the First Vice-Rector Vitalii KURYLO and the Rector of LTSNU Olena KARAMAN.

A person who embodies the best qualities: strength, talent and dedication was also invited to present the master’s degree. He is a university graduate who dreams that in the future children will live in a free and independent Ukraine, and not only dreams, but with a weapon in his hands he will win back this future, he is a military serviceman, he is sure that after the victory, Ukrainians will rebuild everything that was destroyed by Russian missiles. “We will definitely do it to the song, because it touches the soul, and then work is easier” – says a graduate of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, sergeant, platoon commander of the 28th separate mechanized brigade named after the Knights of the Winter Campaign, with the call sign “Artist” and super-finalist of “Voice of the Country-2023” Yurii HORODETSKYI.

Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University is proud of each of its graduates and believes that all of them are capable of great achievements. Each of the students is a part of the big Shevchenko family, which is scattered all over the world to make it better.

At the end of the solemn events, the National Anthem of the University was played by its talented students.
