Online meeting “Connection of Generations” with veterans of pedagogical work of the university
On the eve of the celebration of the 103rd anniversary of the founding of our university, a solemn online meeting “Connection of Generations” with veterans of pedagogical work took place. The event brought together teachers and students of all structural subdivisions of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University located in Poltava, Myrhorod and Lubny. The moderator of the meeting was the deputy director for social and humanitarian work of the educational and scientific institute of pedagogy and psychology.
At the beginning of the meeting, those present recalled some pages of the university’s history: evacuations in 2014 and 2022; huge material losses, as buildings in the cities of Luhansk, Rovenki, Kadiivka (Stakhanov), Shchastia, and Alushta are occupied; in Rubizhne, Kreminna, Lysychansk were completely destroyed. But it was possible to persevere, restore the educational process and preserve the professorial staff of the university.
The leader of the meeting emphasized that the university’s achievements were made possible thanks to the many years of selfless work of the labor team, including its veterans – professors, associate professors, teachers, and other employees, who spared no effort and health for the sake of what became their life’s work, and make a lot of efforts to ensure the life of the university.
Oleksandr Ivanovych Babichev (work experience – 53 years), Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor, Honorary Professor of the University, Honored Worker of Education of Ukraine, who for a long time worked in the position of Vice-Rector of the University for Scientific and Pedagogical Sciences, congratulated the university community from the Educational and Research Institute of Social and Humanitarian Sciences work. He noted that the main wealth of the university is people who survived the difficult conditions of the evacuations, hold themselves with dignity, move forward, do everything possible to preserve the reputation and traditions of their native educational institution.
Further, the veterans of pedagogical work of the Educational and Research Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology, the Educational and Research Institute of Business and Management, the Educational and Research Institute of Natural and Agrarian Sciences, the Educational and Research Institute of Arts shared their memories of the establishment of the university, expressed the desire of young people to acquire knowledge, multiply and preserve traditions. Congratulatory words were addressed by: Nataliia Pavlivna Krasnova (36 years of service), Valery Petrovich Khmel (48 years of service), Nataliya Ivanivna Chervyakova (40 years of service), Nataliia Volodymyrivna Repkina (47 years of service), Oktiabryna Oleksandrivna Kiselova (work experience – 57 years), Svitlana Mykhailivna Rud (work experience – 43 years), Tamara Vasylivna Kovalenko (work experience – 43 years), Viktoriia Viktorivna Yunda (work experience at the university – 16 years).
In sorrow and with great gratitude, they remembered those who had gone to eternity. Yevhen Ivanov, a lecturer at the Department of Public Service and Management of Educational Institutions, told about Yevhen Mykolayovych Khrykov, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor of the Educational and Research Institute of Public Administration and Postgraduate Education, who died at the hands of Russian aggressors. Those present honored the memory of dear people who worked in various structural subdivisions with a moment of silence.
At the end of the meeting, those present expressed deep respect for tireless veteran teachers. Your work is wise and noble, because you are remembered by graduates of different generations and young teachers of our institution. The connection of generations continues, it is a route to the future of the native Alma Mater!
The moderator of the meeting wished everyone a peaceful sky above their heads, health, family comfort and warmth, well-being, creative effort and prosperity of their native university.
