Welcome speech of the Rector of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, Olena Karaman, at the plenary session of the 3rd International Scientific and Practical Conference
The 3rd International Scientific and Practical Conference “Science and Education in Global and National Dimensions: Challenges, Threats, Development Prospects” was held on February 23, 2024 in the session hall of the Lubny City Council.
“Dear scientists of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University and educators of the Lubny region!
It is extremely pleasant to start this holiday today – the holiday of education and science! Our conference gathered 300 participants in two days. These are participants from educational institutions of various levels, both in Ukraine and Europe.
On February 22, the first day of the 3rd International Scientific and Practical Conference was held online, at which dozens of educators and scientists spoke. Today, there are eleven reports by scientists of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University and educators of the Lubny region. Based on the results of the conference, we published a collection of scientific theses, two numbers of the scientific-methodical almanac “Nurturing the Personality” and this is evidence that, despite the war, educators and scientists are more united than ever and are already winners on the educational and scientific front.
I am extremely pleased to see already familiar faces of people who constantly strive for develop everything around them, nurture a highly educated personality, spiritually and morally developed according to the best national and European traditions.
Dear friends, you are the true pride of the Ukrainian nation! You are an educational and scientific elite who personify the indomitability of Ukraine, faith in victory and progressive development of society after victory.
Your daily work is a real feat, and the experience that was summarized in the scientific-methodical almanac is a treasure, a storehouse of pedagogical practice that no one has ever experienced in this world: neither we, representatives of the higher school, nor our modern students of pedagogical specialties. You are leaders, pioneers: both the ideas of the New Ukrainian School, and new educational standards, and a new network of educational institutions.
I am very proud of the fact that we have all gathered together in this format today. When I mentally return to the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia, I would not have chosen another path for myself and for the university – the Lubny Territorial Community. We are very grateful to the local leadership and to you, dear educators, for your support of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.
I wish everyone fruitful work, success, achievements and victory at all levels!”
