An exciting online lecture on the topic “Tools for the analysis and visualization of regional development indicators (using the example of Sweden)” was held at the Educational and Research Institute of Social and Humanitarian Sciences.
The event was held for students majoring in “Sociology” and “Political Science” with the aim of expanding knowledge and skills in the field of analysis of social processes and political dynamics. The speaker of the event was recognized sociologist and analyst Liudmyla Protsenko, who works in the regional development department of the company “Region Kalmar län”, Sweden. Her experience in this area was useful to the participants not only in terms of theoretical overview, but also in the practical application of skills in the use of data analysis and visualization tools. Mrs. Liudmyla spoke about her work experience in Sweden, about her department: its functions, directions of work and specifics of work organization. The expert focused on several data analysis tools, explained how they help analysts in their work, demonstrated interactive maps, charts, and tables. She provided instructions for working with the programs “The R Project for Statistical Computing”, “ArcGIS”, “Power BI” and others.
The meeting was also attended by teachers Kateryna Kotelenets, Svitlana Khobta, Yulia Nuzhna, Svitlana Vovk, Igor Zhurba, Alina Gots and Lilia Verkhovod, who asked questions and discussed the topic of the report. The event inspired students to develop their skills and enrich their professional output, especially in the context of modern methods of analyzing social phenomena and political processes.
