“Where is education in sustainability and recovery of Ukraine?”

The Vice Director of the Educational and Research Institute of Philology and Journalism attended an offline event “Where is education in sustainability and recovery of Ukraine?”.

Last week, Olрa Korinska, Vice Director in charge of Social and Humanitarian Affairs of the Educational and Research Institute of Philology and Journalism, lecturer of the Oriental Philology and Translation Studies Department, attended an offline event of Progresylni in Kyiv.

The scientific community was welcomed and shared their vision by foreign experts from different countries.

While at the panel discussion, the opinions of Ukrainian experts were somewhat divided. Some believed that educational reforms at the time and this will improve the quality of Ukrainian education and its integration into the European space. Others that there is currently no understanding of the importance of education and its proper funding, and teachers remain the poorest today. They also emphasized that reforms should be transparent, understandable and calculated, and universities should be useful and visible.

At the meeting, the main idea was outlined that for the post-war reconstruction it is important to preserve the displaced universities and young people so that there would be someone to return to their homes and rebuild the lost.

In the final of the meeting, the results of a short survey of teachers were presented, where the level of remuneration was the most painful issue, and 80% noted a significant deterioration in the quality of education with the beginning of a full-scale invasion.
