Participation in a three-day training

The other day, the guarantor of the EP “Sociology” Kateryna Kotelenets took part in a three-day training (Latvia, Aknīstē).

The first day was devoted to discussing the structure of organizations, their mission and vision. Linda Jākobsone – Gavala, “Gribu utjat bēgliam” talked about the formation and development of her organization, about the structure and projects. Ligita Elksnīte shared her experience on the development of social entrepreneurship in the agricultural sector.

Daina Alužane analyzed the typology of public organizations in Latvia and shared her experience of registering a public organization, maintaining financial documentation, and also provided a list of donors for grant projects. Kateryna shared her experience with Latvian colleagues regarding the study of organizations in education, the public sector, how local self-government is currently organized in Ukraine, and relocated military administrations. She also spoke about the involvement of young people in the educational process within the framework of non-formal education.

The second day was devoted to project management. Participants improved their knowledge and practical skills in writing projects.

Ieva Jātniece shared her experience of conducting project activities in the agricultural sector. She told how she and her colleagues turned the school in Kaldabruņā into a creative playground for the villagers, where Latvian traditions are preserved, by founding the organization ŪDENSZĪMES. The participants of the event visited this organization and talked with its members.

The third day was dedicated to the non-profit economic activities of public organizations and the development of creativity and crafts as a source of self-financing. The participants had the opportunity to visit the creative center Andu un Ievu Svarānēm “Rūme” in the village of Zasa. Masters told how to combine creativity and management in the organization; what are the main types of income; how to attract donors. The experience of maintaining public organizations through the use of creativity can be interesting for Ukrainian organizations as well.

Kateryna Kotelenets plans to implement the received information and experience in the educational content of the EP “Sociology” (OK 23 Sociology of Organizations and Management) and in the EP “Sociology of Borderlands and National Security” (OK 2 Grantwriting and Project Management).
