Angels of memory
19.2.2024
Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University joined the 11th worldwide silent action “Angels of Memory” in honor of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes.
The action, which was started in 2014 to symbolically commemorate those who gave their lives for Ukraine with the White Angels and which will last until February 20, 2024.
Students, teachers and employees of LTSNU created angels from white paper and hung them on a figurative tree and added each of their carved angels to a board commemorating the Heavenly Hundred Heroes and to honor the feat of the participants of the Revolution of Dignity, which was created by specialists of the Marketing Department. This installation symbolizes those who died for Ukraine and our common painful memory and belief in the victory of light over darkness.
We will remind that on February 18, 2014, the most tragic stage of the Revolution of Dignity began in Ukraine. Between February 18 and 20, 2014, more than a hundred people died in the center of the capital, several dozen went missing, and more than a thousand were injured. Currently, the list of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes is 105 dead.
Everyone can approach the created exposition and honor the memory of the dead by adding their angel, so that the events that are happening now in our country will forever be engraved in the history of Ukraine and in the heart of every Ukrainian.
Viktoria Arsenenko, a 1st-year student of the Educational and Research Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology, hanging her paper angel, said: “Every person should join such an action, it is important for me and for the country. Everyone should remember the heroes who gave their lives for a better future. I want to help many people realize that they need to fight for themselves and their country.”
Bright memory and eternal glory to the Heroes!
We have no right to forget about it!
