Meeting of project groups
14.2.2024
A meeting of project groups for the EP “Landscape Gardening and Forestry” and “Forestry” was held.
A meeting of the project groups for the EP “Landscape Gardening” of the bachelor’s and master’s levels and the EP “Forestry” of the bachelor’s level took place at the Department of Landscape Gardening and Ecology.
The guarantors of the “Landscape Gardening” educational programs Serhii SOKOLOV and Iryna KRAVETS held a meeting with members of the project groups, students, teachers and graduates to discuss educational program projects.
In terms of modern problems of training bachelors and masters majoring in 206 Landscape Gardening, taking into account the challenges of today, the participants of the meeting discussed the strategy for the further development of educational programs, listened to the opinion of the graduate of the first level of higher education Oleksandra Shkarupa regarding the relevance of the educational components that were taught during training, and also considered the features of the “Landscape Gardening” educational programs implemented at the department in comparison with EPs for this specialty in other educational institutions.
Those present paid special attention to the relevance of the purpose and features of the developed educational and professional programs, their structural and logical construction, the list and scope of mandatory components, which will contribute to the provision of systematic and high-quality professional knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as ensure that students acquire the necessary competencies.
The project group of the educational program “Forestry” under the leadership of the guarantor, Professor of the Department of Landscape Gardening and Ecology, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Anatolii Shevchenko, emphasized the relevance of the specialty 205 Forestry and the growing demand for its graduates in connection with the mass destruction of forests as a result of Russian aggression. Military actions in Ukraine have a negative impact on forest ecosystems, leading to the destruction of more than 60 thousand hectares of forests and other plantations. The damage affects not only the forests in the east and north of the country, but also other regions that are subject to shelling and bombing. This gives rise to the need to update the content of such educational components as “Forest restoration”, “Forest protection” and “Forest ecology” taking into account the formation of the competencies of those who will work on the restoration of the forest cover of our state.
We sincerely thank all participants of the discussion for fruitful cooperation!
