World cafe “Path to a Profession: Success Stories”

The world cafe “Path to a Profession: Success Stories” was held at the Educational and Research Institute of Social and Humanitarian Sciences.

Recently, the Institute of Social and Humanitarian Sciences held a world cafe “Path to a Profession: Success Stories”, where the head of the career development center Valentyna Vovk and graduates, teachers and students of the institute were invited. During the event, the main provisions of the career development center, trend directions of the labor market, ways of cooperation with the employment center, the organization of professional fairs, etc. were discussed.

Ms. Valentyna noted that the Center is a university-wide unit that should contribute to the creation of conditions for career development and further employment of graduates; supporting the initiatives of students through the provision of consulting and information services; organization of informal education, trainings, seminars, and other events.

She emphasized that the Center has several areas of activity:

  • Research of the labor market;
  • Cooperation with the employment center;
  • Organization and holding of trade fairs;
  • Informing students about employment opportunities;
  • Helping students in creating resumes;
  • Organization of student practice at the factory;
  • Preparation and conclusion of agreements between the university and institutions for the possibility of internship and further employment.

She also encouraged participation in the center’s events and left several interesting and useful links for future employment and acquisition of additional softskills by students. The students also had the opportunity to talk and ask questions to graduates of the institute, including the EP “Sociology” and the EP “Political Science”. Yuliia Khatsanovska, Kateryna Borysovych and Roman Bordiuh shared their experience of development in the profession: the application of acquired competences during training, the direct training process, the evacuation and support of teachers in the difficult conditions of the first months of the war. They also talked about their success in the profession and provided recommendations for improving the educational process.

Kateryna Borysovych noted: “I am sure that the joint efforts of the university team and stakeholders will help you (app. students) to reach heights in your further professional career. I wish everyone success and inspiration!”.
