Introductory conference on pedagogical production practice

The introductory conference on pedagogical production practice was held at the Department of Chemistry, Geography and Earth Sciences.

On February 8, 2024, at the Department of Chemistry, Geography and Earth Sciences of the Educational and Research Institute of Natural and Agrarian Sciences, an introductory conference on pedagogical production practice for master’s students majoring in 014.07 Secondary Education (Geography) was held. The event was attended by 7 part-time students, as well as teachers of the Department of Chemistry, Geography and Earth Sciences: Candidate of Geographical Sciences, Associate Professor I.H. Melnyk and Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor G.V. Havriushenko.

The purpose of the conference was to acquaint the master’s students with the purpose, tasks, content and organization of pedagogical industrial practice, as well as to provide them with the necessary methodological recommendations for its completion.

I.G. Melnyk, Associate Professor of the Department, emphasized the importance of pedagogical production practice for the training of future geography teachers and focused in detail on the stages of practice, the types of work to be performed by master’s students, documentation, as well as the criteria for evaluating their work.

G. V. Havriushenko, Associate Professor of the Department, gave a report on the main requirements for secondary education, outlined in the Concept of the New Ukrainian School – transition from an authoritarian to a person-oriented model of education, development of competencies, activity approach, partnership in education.

During the conference, master’s students had the opportunity to ask questions to teachers.

The pedagogical production practice is an important component of the training of future geography teachers. Thanks to immersion in the school environment, master’s students acquire the necessary competences to work as a geography teacher, study the experience of teachers, get a direct understanding of the specifics of the chosen specialty, and the problems of the education system.
