Final certification at the Journalism Department

The final certification was held at the Journalism Department.
During January 26-27, the Journalism Department of the Educational and Research Institute of Philology and Journalism conducted the final certification of master’s students majoring in 061 “Journalism”. Certification took place in the form of testing and defense of qualification works.
The head of the examination commission Nataliia Fedotova, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Marketing Department of of the National University of Food Technologies (Kyiv), and members of the commission: Olena Kravchenko, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Journalism Department and Artem Halych, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor of the Journalism Department made a welcome speech.
NataliIa Fedotova emphasized that the scientific works of students were checked for originality using the “Unicheck” licensing system. In particular, the head of the commission noted the positive result of the inspection.
In addition, the stakeholder Roman Rusanov – the founder and head of LLC “ULove Media” – came to the defense, who spoke about the possibilities of the profession chosen by the graduates, outlined the importance of the journalist’s work in the modern world, and emphasized the need for a professional approach to building the country’s information space.
Despite the activity of enemy aircraft and frequent air raids, all master’s students presented their qualification papers.
According to the results of defense, the best studies were determined:
- Nataliia Kiiashko “Coverage of the Russian-Ukrainian war in the mass media of the Poltava Region”;
- Olha Izotova “Development trends of regional mass media in Ukraine (on the example of the online publication “Poltavshchyna”)”;
- Oleksandr Cherepenia “Propaganda in the media: mechanisms and countermeasures”.
After the presentation of the master’s thesis, the members of the examination committee asked questions to each student in order to reveal their competence. All master’s students gave a qualified answer to them.
After the discussion of the defenced works, the students were informed of the grades.
The members of the commission expressed their sincere wishes to the graduates, and the master’s students expressed their gratitude to the teachers.
Congratulations to the graduates who successfully defended their master’s theses! We wish them good health, creative efforts in information activities, professional achievements in the name of peace, and freedom of Ukraine!
