Final Certification at the Department of Ukrainian and Foreign Literature

The Department of Ukrainian and Foreign Literature hosted the final certification.

The master’s students majoring in Secondary Education. 01.01. Ukrainian language and literature (Full-time/Part-time) and 014.01. Ukrainian language and literature. Language and literature (English) (Full-time/Part-time) in the period from 18.01.2024 to 24.01.2024 completed the final certification, which included a comprehensive exam in professional disciplines and a public defense of the qualification work. The results of these stages confirmed the level of knowledge, skills and competences acquired by the graduates.

Graduates of the department of Ukrainian and foreign literature successfully passed the comprehensive exam in professional disciplines. Its results prove the appropriate level of development of general and special competencies necessary for successful professional activity.

The public defense of the master’s theses of the Department of Ukrainian and Foreign Literature made it possible to represent the results of the graduates’ scientific research. Admission to the defense was checking the research for possible use of academic plagiarism using the Unicheck software.

The study of students of the second (master’s) level covered various aspects of literary studies and methods of teaching literature: a comparative study of the problem of the artist and art; artistic features of modern dystopia, military and postmodern prose; functioning of the poetics of visuality, associative names, genres of psalm, prayer and fantasy; representations of existential motives, children’s problems, gender conceptology, the “family” archetype and the concept of food; the study of wedding rituals and the formation of the personality of students in the lessons of Ukrainian literature in secondary education institutions, etc.

During the public defense, the participants presented their achievements at a high scientific level, answered the questions, received recommendations from the members of the Examination Commission and reviewers. The discussion of master’s theses caused interesting professional discussions, which emphasizes the scientific nature and openness of the event.

According to the results of the final attestation, the graduates were awarded a master’s degree in the specialty “Secondary education. Ukrainian language and literature” “Secondary education. Ukrainian language and literature. Language and literature (English)”. The members of the Examination Committee sincerely congratulated the graduates and urged them to continue their scientific research.
