Certification of master’s students in mathematical specialties

The certification of qualification works of master’s students in mathematical specialties was held at the Institute of Mathematics and Information Technologies.

On January 23, the qualification papers of master’s students majoring in 014 Secondary Education (Mathematics) and 111 Mathematics were certified at the Institute of Mathematics and Information Technologies.

Commission on educational programs “Mathematics”, specialty 014 “Secondary education” (full-time and part-time education) and “Algebra and number theory” specialty 111 “Mathematics” (full-time and part-time education) headed by its head – Oksana Odintsova, candidate of physics and mathematical sciences, associate professor of the Department of Mathematics, Physics and Methods of Their Teaching of Sumy State A.S.Makarenko Pedagogical University, worked in full staff: professors, doctors of physical and mathematical sciences Anatolii Zhuchok and Yurii Zhuchok, as well as associate professors, candidate of physical and mathematical sciences Olena Toichkina and candidate of technical sciences Hennadii Mohylnyi. Tthe work of the commission was started by the a welcoming speech of the acting director of the Educational and Research Institute of Mathematics and Information Technologies Hennadii Mohylnyi.

The master’s students Olha Huryn and Serhii Kaminskyi majorign in 111 “Mathematics” were the first to speak, who presented the results of research on the topics “Semigroups of endomorphisms of free monogenic trioids” and “Free monogenic generalized digroups”. Their master’s theses are related to the scientific research of the university’s algebra research group, namely the research topic “Free Lode structures and endomorphism monoids” (state registration number 0122U000820). According to reviews, feedback from the academic advisers and commission members, the works of these students received positive reviews and high final scores.

Anna Bahina was the first among the master’s students majoring in 014 “Secondary Education” to speak with the topic of her work “Methodology of teaching trigonometry to students with special educational needs by means of distance technologies”, receiving the grade “Excellent” on the national scale. Next, Olena Sivets spoke on the topic “Heuristic technologies for teaching mathematics in a specialized school”, her work received favorable reviews.

Halyna Demeshko and Yuliia Boiko were rated “Excellent” on the national scale after presenting works on the topics “Methodology for studying polynomials in a school algebra course” and “Methodology for studying complex numbers and their application to solving problems in a school mathematics course.”

Olesia Nazarenko and Iryna Halik spoke on the topics “Methodology of studying theorems in the school mathematics course” and “Digitalization of school mathematics education”. The works of such education seekers as Iryna Yushko and Maryna Bezsmertna were evaluated at a high level for the qualification papers “Control of learning results as an element of diagnostics of the quality of mathematics education” and “Basic techniques and methods of solving problems with parameters”.

The penultimate speaker was Maria Shevchenko with the topic “Methods of graph research using transformations”, receiving positive feedback from the commission members. At the end of the defense, Veronika Kostenko gave a presentation of the work “Active approach in the study of stereometry”.

At the end of the reports, summing up the results, the head of the commission, Oksana Odintsova, informed that the students were awarded the appropriate professional qualifications. The members of the commission expressed their sincere wishes to the graduates.

The Department of Mathematics and Informatics wishes our master’s students success in their further pedagogical and scientific activities!
