Final Certification at the Department of Romance & Germanic Philology.

The final stage of training for students of higher education at the Master’s level in specialties 035 “Philology” EP “Language and literature (English)”, EP “Language and literature (German)” and 014 “Secondary education” EP “Language and literature (English)”, EP “Language and literature (German)” became an attestation in the form of a public defense of the qualification work and comprehensive testing, based on the results of which the applicants confirmed their knowledge, skills and competences acquired during their studies.

From 16.01.2024 to 18.01.2024, Department of Romance & Germanic Philology applicants successfully passed the comprehensive exam conducted as testing. The test answers proved the necessary level of formation of general and special competencies, which are required for activities in professional fields related to future specialties.

After the testing, there was a public defense of the Master’s qualification papers. Per the normative provisions of admission to the defense, the texts of qualification papers were checked for academic plagiarism using the Unicheck software. The studies of the second (Master’s) level covered various aspects of philological and pedagogical sciences: modern trends in the development of philological sciences in the EU countries, features of the transformational model of translation, linguistic and cultural aspects of the concepts of “dance”, “peace” in the language pictures of the world, the formation of intercultural competence of high school students through interactive technologies, communicative and pragmatic adaptation of English film titles when translating from English to Ukrainian, etc.

During the public defense, the awardees presented their scientific works dignifiedly, answered the questions, and received recommendations from the members of the Examination Commission and reviewers. Completion of qualification works confirmed the ability of applicants to apply theoretical knowledge and carry out scientific research. Discussions of research papers were accompanied by exciting and reasoned discussions, which proved the scientific and open nature of the event.

According to the results of the final certification, the graduates were awarded a master’s degree. The members of the Examination Commission congratulated the winners and urged them to continue their scientific research.
