Defense of qualification works at the Design Department

The defense of qualification works took place at the Design Department.

On January 15, 2024, the Design Department of the Educational and Research Institute of Arts hosted the defense of the second (master’s) level of higher education in specialty 022 “Design” EP “Graphic Design”. The projects of the book, author’s catalog, corporate style and advertising and graphic complex were presented.

The State Examination Commission included:

• the head: Olena Polishchuk – Doctor of Philosophy, professor of the Department of Fine Arts and Design of Zhytomyr Ivan Franko State University;
• members of the commission: Iryna Prodan – acting Director of the ER IA, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor; Olha Kostiuk – acting Head of the Design Department, Candidate of Philosophical Sciences, Associate Professor; Nazar Bozhynskyi – Associate Professor of the Design Department, Candidate of Architecture.

According to the topics of the qualification papers, the masters researched the principles of design: books, author’s catalog, corporate style, educational and polygraphic edition, printed polygraphic products, advertising and graphic complex.

In addition to the best works performed at a high theoretical and practical level, the commission noted works with original and unique design projects. In general, all projects were filled with creative ideas, focused on the demand of the modern design services market.

Recommendations for future designers include the introduction of Soft Skills principles in cooperation with real customers, increasing the level of self-presentation, positioning and promotion of designed design objects.
