Meeting of the Department of Public Service and Management of Educational Institutions

On January 11, the first meeting of the Department of Public Service and Management of Educational Institutions in 2024 was held.

The first item on the agenda of the department meeting was to discuss the results of the final attestation of master’s students majoring in 281 “Public Management and Administration”. The Director of the Educational and Research Institute of Public Administration and Postgraduate Education, guarantor of the Territorial Administration and Local Self-Government educational program, Professor Volodymyr ZABLOTSKY noted the improvement in the quality of the preparation of Master’s qualification papers, the relevance of the subject and the general high level of students’ knowledge, which was also confirmed by the results of the Unified State Qualifying Exam. Other members of the examination commission, guarantors of educational programs, associate professors Olga PTAKHINA and Olga SAIENKO also took part in the discussion.

Among the most important issues of the meeting, the preparation for accreditation in the next year of the educational programs “Territorial management and local self-government”, “Social sphere”, “Personnel management” of specialty 281 “Public Management and Administration” was discussed. The head of the educational and methodological commission of the university, associate professor of the department Yevhen IVANOV outlined the main problematic issues from the experience of accreditation of educational programs at other structural divisions of the university. The program guarantors and all present teachers of the department participated in the discussion of future accreditation risks. Acting the head of the department, professor Tetiana Sych identified the main tasks for improving the quality of the educational process and the qualitative composition of scientific and pedagogical workers of the department.

The next item on the agenda discussed the results of the analysis of the implementation of the department’s decisions in 2023, according to which the work of the department was recognized as satisfactory. The acting head of the Department, Professor Tetiana Sych emphasized that the main prerequisites for the effective implementation of the department’s decisions are high-quality management decisions, the effectiveness of mechanisms for delivering decisions to executors, and systematic control over their implementation.
