Participation in the “Poruch” support group

Lecturers of the Department of Public Service and Management of Educational Institutions took part in the “Poruch” support group.
In December 2023, teachers of the Department of Public Service and Management of Educational Institutions, PhD., associate professors Nadiia VASYNOVA and Yevhen IVANOV took part in the support group “PORUCH” and the educational program: “TRAINING OF HEALING TECHNIQUES FOR PARENTS, PERSONS WHO REPLACE THEM, AND SPECIALISTS WHO WORK WITH CHILDREN”, which is implemented with the support of the United Nations Children’s Fund Representative Office (UNICEF) in Ukraine.
The following topics were studied theoretically and practically:
- Understanding the traumatic impact of war on children’s mental health.
- Consequences of psychotrauma, symptoms and mechanisms of PTSD development, model of healing and resilience.
- Model of the program “Children and war: teaching healing techniques”, experience of application in other countries, research data of the program, possibilities of application in the context of the situation in Ukraine.
- General principles of program organization and group management.
- The main techniques for the stabilization stage and the model of their training in the group context.
- Techniques for processing traumatic memory, principles of their safe application.
- Model of work with parents.
- Management of the reactions of leading groups, principles of self-care and protection against burnout, etc.
In addition, during the training, the participants together with the trainers discussed the peculiarities of adolescence, current requests and challenges for teenagers in building a life perspective; determined what is characteristic of the modern generation and why it is important to take this into account, considering the theory of generations; outlined the peculiarities of the work of specialists with adolescents in times of uncertainty; and also learned about the methodical recommendations regarding the implementation of the program and the structure and features of conducting training classes.
Specialists will be able to use the acquired knowledge and skills both in their personal life and in the professional sphere. The program is useful for educators, parents and people who need help.
We sincerely thank the trainers of the program – Larisa REN, head of the Department of Social Work and Educational and Pedagogical Sciences of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University “Chernihiv Collegium” and Lina MAKHOTKINIA – Associate Professor of the Department of Social Work and Educational and Pedagogical Sciences of Taras Shevchenko National University “Chernihiv Collegium” for competence-oriented teaching with a strong emphasis on working out practical skills and developing relevant skills necessary for high-quality and safe use of this technique, meaningful meeting, as well as offered timely help.
According to the training results, the participants received certificates and the opportunity to conduct training sessions according to the program.
