Meeting of the Department

On December 20, 2023, a meeting of the Department of Professional Education, Restaurant and Tourism Business of the Educational and Research Institute of Technologies and Trade was held.

The agenda of the department meeting included:

• Report of Viktor Burdun on the work performed as the head of the Department of Production Technology and Professional Education for the past contract period;
• About the recommendation of Viktor Burdun for the position of head of the Department of Professional Education, Restaurant and Tourism Business.

Eduard Potapenko, Acting Director of the Educational and Research Institute of Technologies and Trade, chaired the meeting. 

Viktor Burdun emphasized the joint work of the entire staff of the department and noted that the department has made significant improvements over the past 5 years. Before the reorganization, the department had 406 full-time and part-time students in 3 majors, and 15 teachers.

Since 2018, the department has organized and held one All-Ukrainian and two international scientific and practical conferences, two All-Ukrainian student conferences, two inter-departmental seminars, a joint seminar with LOIPPO, one workshop, exhibitions of creative works of students of the department were organized. The teachers of the department published 110 articles, 34 of which were articles with an impact factor, 186 theses, 6 manuals, 9 methodological recommendations, 1 monograph, 1 chapter in a monograph, 2 articles in a monograph. Teachers of the department took part in 88 international, all-Ukrainian and regional conferences and seminars.

For 5 years, 152 students took part in the 1st round of the All-Ukrainian Student Competition of Research Papers. 5 students became the winners of the II round of this competition. 

The department published 6 collections “Scientific Search of Young Researchers”, in which articles by students of the department were included. Students published 168 articles and 111 theses.

Eduard Potapenko positively assessed the professional activity of Viktor Vasyliovych as the head of the department, and noted his personal scientific and methodical achievements.

After approval of the report on scientific and pedagogical activity from the acting head of the Department of Professional Education, Restaurant and Tourist Business Viktor Burdun, the staff of the department decided to recommend the candidate of pedagogical sciences, associate professor Viktor Burdun to participate in the competition to fill the vacant position of the head of the Department of Professional Education, Restaurant and Tourist Business.
