Participation in the American Spaces in Ukraine

Director of the Institute of International Education and coordinator of the Window on America Center took part in the event organized by the US Embassy in Kyiv.
On December 14-16, 2023, Director of the Institute of International Education, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Iryna Myhovych and coordinator of the Window on America information and resource center in the Luhansk region Oksana Husakova took part in the AMERICAN SPACES IN UKRAINE event for the American Spaces network in Ukraine from the US Embassy in Kyiv.
According to the organizers, the purpose of the event was to create a safe and hospitable atmosphere for the directors and coordinators of the Window on America centers so that they could meet with American diplomats, communicate with each other and discuss the challenges in organizing the work of the Window on America centers during the war. Participants had the opportunity to share best practices and discuss tools and programs useful for each Window on America center.
They discussed the effective use of potential resources that can be provided by the State Department and other international institutions to meet the needs of Ukrainians in strengthening their resilience and building the country after victory. Therefore, during the event, participants had the opportunity to ask questions to Tac Evans, Advisor on Press, Education and Culture, U.S. Embassy in Kyiv; Violeta Talandis, Regional Public Engagement Specialist, U.S. Embassy in Bucharest; Erin Cozens, Cultural Assistant, U.S. Embassy in Kyiv; Wes Jefferson, Acting Advisor on Press, Education and Culture, U.S. Embassy in Kyiv; as well as participate in trainings on media literacy of L2D and public diplomacy, get information on the virtual pilot program of the Peace Corps, opportunities from the American House in Kyiv, etc.
