Participation of Lecturers of the Romance & Germanic Philology Department in the international conference.
On 14-15 December 2023, the scientific and pedagogical staff of the Romance and Germanic Philology Department (acting head N.F. Khairulina) took part in an international conference in Rome, Italy. The scientific and practical event entitled: “The University and Inclusion” brought together scholars from around the world to enable the exchange of thoughts and ideas within the framework of the outlined issues.
The University is a critical player in regional development. The third mission of universities is defined as the activities of universities aimed at solving social and economic problems, including those related to implementing the Sustainable Development Goals. Achieving all of these outcomes is possible through cooperation with local and regional key players and society. The conference aimed to answer the following questions: What role does the University play in inclusiveness? Who are the University’s partners on this path?
The conference was held in person (the Professor of the Department, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences Shekhavtsova S.O., took part in the event) and online (the Acting Head, Associate Professors, and lecturers of the Department joined the event). The meetings were held in sections: 1) University and Education of People with Special Needs; 2) University and Migration; 3) Lifelong Learning; 4) University and Partners in Ensuring Social Cohesion and Sustainable Society.
Professor of the Department, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences Shekhavtsova Svitlana Oleksandrivna presented “Formation Cross-Cultural Competences as Global Skills within Life-Long Education.”
The Department of Romance and Germanic Philology thanks the organizers and all the experts for the event and looks forward to further fruitful cooperation.
