“Natural Sciences: Projects, Research, Prospects”

For two days, the IV International Scientific and Practical Conference “Natural Sciences: Projects, Research, Prospects” took place on the basis of the Faculty of Natural Sciences of LTSNU.
According to the program of the conference, during its work, three plenary sessions were held in the following areas: “Achievements, problems and prospects of research in biology and natural sciences” (moderators Iryna KYRPYCHOVA, Iryna KRAVETS), “Agrarian sciences and food: traditions, problems and prospects” ( moderators Halyna Yevtushenko, Olena Samoilenko), “Education: issues of theory and practice (natural sciences)” (moderators Iryna Melnyk).
At the plenary sessions, all those present had the opportunity to listen to and discuss more than 20 scientific reports by leading scientists in their respective fields. Each report caused a lively discussion and many questions to the speaker.
At the first plenary session “Achievements, problems and prospects of research in biology and natural sciences” a report was presented by a biologist who is today in the most distant point of Ukraine – the station “Akademik Vernadskyi”, Galindez Island, Antarctica – Serhii GLOTOV, Candidate of Biological Sciences , a junior researcher at the department of museum documentation of bioresources of the State Museum of Natural History of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, a member of the 27th-28th Ukrainian Antarctic Expedition.
The representatives of nature reserves, landscape parks of botanical gardens gave thorough and interesting reports on today’s scientific problems. They were Larysa BOROVYK, Andrii ZUIAKOV, Volodymyr KRASOVSKYI, Kostiantyn KURYACHYI, leading scientist of our faculty Mykyta PEREGRYM, national consultant of international forestry projects of Georgia – Zurab MANVELIDZE, coordinator of the laboratory of the US university – Vitalii RAZDAIBEDIN.
During the second plenary session “Agrarian sciences and food: traditions, problems and prospects” reports were presented by representatives of leading academic and educational institutions – Oleksandr HAIDASH, Oleksii USTYMENKO, Nadiia MAKSYMENKO, our scientists – Anatolii SHEVCHENKO, Yurii MAKHORTOV, Igor AKSONOV, Andrii KOHAN.
The third plenary session “Education: issues of theory and practice (natural sciences)” brought together educators, where reports were presented by Yurii Kysilov, Natalia Matsai, Serhii Zherlitsyn, and Maryna Antonets.
The sectional meetings were held in accordance with the program also in three areas. Both experienced and young scientists from institutions and organizations of six countries of the world presented their works. The reports gave rise to long discussions and new ideas about areas of cooperation. More than 50 reports were presented at the conference and more than 150 participants took part.
At the end of the event, the organizers together with the participants summed up the results of the conference and expressed their gratitude and hope for further cooperation.
