Production of trench candles at the FNS

The Faculty of Natural Sciences of LTSNU actively participates in volunteer actions to support our military, which defends the country from the enemy.

On December 8-9, representatives of the dean’s office and student self-government of the Faculty joined the action “Let’s Unite for Victory!”, which took place in the Myrhorod Literary and Memorial Museum of David Guramishvili.

Now each of us is doing everything possible to bring victory closer. During two days, representatives of the Faculty of Natural Sciences contributed to the production of lighters and trench candles. After all, these candles have multifunctional possibilities of use and are indispensable helpers for our military. It burns longer than the usual one, in addition, it can be lit several times, helps the military to illuminate a dugout or shelter, dry clothes, provides warmth and an opportunity to heat food. Also, such candles are difficult to extinguish with wind, they are not afraid of moisture.

This time, for the first time, trench candles were also made from pine cones. Such cones are more ecological, burn longer without smoke and have a pleasant smell.

The trench candles and lighters are ready and will soon be handed over to our defenders at the front.
