“16 Days Against Violence”

Participants of the educational process of the Starobilsk Professional College of LTSNU joined the annual All-Ukrainian action “16 Days Against Violence”.

From November 25 to December 10, 2023, the annual All-Ukrainian action “16 Days Against Violence” took place, the purpose of which was to draw public attention to the problems of overcoming family violence, child abuse, combating human trafficking and protecting women’s rights, etc.

Today, when Ukraine is waging a fierce war with the Russian Federation for its existence, it may seem that the topic of domestic violence and the measures devoted to this topic are out of date and that there are more important issues, but this is not entirely true. In the course of a full-scale war with Russia, the level of stress, the state of nervousness and emotionality among citizens increases, which often results in family quarrels with relatives and friends, which often turn into violence.

Therefore, during the sixteen-day period, the participants of the educational process of Starobilsk Professional College of LTSNU received information on how to protect yourself and where, if necessary, to turn for help.

At the same time, as part of the campaign, a number of events were held at the college: painting of thematic posters, postcards and pictures, thematic events and meetings. On December 7, an hour of communication “My choice: life without violence” was held, the main purpose of which is to increase understanding and awareness of all forms of violence, to create a social space free from violence, to prevent its manifestation and to respond comprehensively.

The campaign “16 Days Against Violence” is an opportunity to once again remind the public about the existence of these problems in society, to raise people’s awareness of all forms of violence and to continue the process of creating a safe space for life.
