All-Ukrainian action “16 Days Against Violence”
8.12.2023
Every year from November 25 to December 10, the All-Ukrainian action “16 Days Against Violence” is held in various countries of the world.
The All-Ukrainian campaign “16 Days Against Violence” is being held with the aim of drawing attention to the problems of overcoming violence in families, child abuse, combating human trafficking and protecting women’s rights.
The sixteen-day period of action covers important dates that combine measures against violence against women and actions to protect human rights, emphasizing that any form of violence against a person, regardless of their gender, is a violation of human rights.
Thus, a set of events was held for students of the Brianka Professional College:
– hours of communication “World Without Violence”, “I have the right to live without violence” for the International Day of Combating Violence Against Women;
– preventive talks “Knowing to Live”, “Living in a world where there is HIV” for World AIDS Day;
– viewing of the film with further discussion “Life for Sale” for the International Anti-Slavery Day;
– an hour of tolerance “Goodness begins with you” for the International Day of People with Disabilities.
The meeting of college students with volunteers and psychologists from the non-governmental organization “Right to Defense” was interesting and informative. They held the thematic event “Gender-based violence: how to avoid and counter it”, where the topics of violence in the family, parents against children were discussed. The issues “How to Counteract Violence”, “What to do if you witness violence” were discussed.
As part of the All-Ukrainian campaign “16 Days Against Violence”, an information hour “One Law for All” was held for students regarding the prevention of bullying. It was explained about the responsibility for cruel treatment of peers and for committing criminal offenses against the individual.
All events held at the college are timed to the All-Ukrainian campaign “16 Days Against Violence” and are aimed at increasing student youth’s understanding of the problems of overcoming violence in families, combating human trafficking and protecting women’s rights, cruel treatment of peers and intolerance of violence.
They also encourage students to analyze their own actions, rethink their values, contribute to the education of humanity, responsibility, love for others, respect for the dignity of another person, and a conscious attitude to their rights and responsibilities.
