The square of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes the became a place of memory, heroism and glory, where the opening of a street installation with portraits of fallen Lubny soldiers took place.

On December 6, 2023, the opening of a street installation with portraits of fallen Lubny soldiers was held in the Heavenly Hundred Heroes Square, which was timed to the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to honor the memory of the fallen who, with the beginning of Russia’s armed aggression, defended Ukraine and so that we all remember they killed those who gave the most valuable thing – their own lives – so that we could live and work here, in the rear, for the happy future of our children, our state.

The Rector of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University Olena KARAMAN, head of the Primary Trade Union Organization Volodymyr MOROZ, representatives of student self-government together with Lubny community leaders, military personnel, educators, the public took part in the opening of the installation with 88 portraits of heroes and honored the memory of all fallen defenders , who gave their lives for the independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine in the fight against the Moscow occupiers.

The event began with the playing of the national anthem of Ukraine and a moment of silence in memory of the heroic feat of the soldiers who died while performing combat missions to protect the state sovereignty of our country.

After the speeches, the representatives of the authorities honored the Heroes by lighting lamps and laying flowers by the photo boards.

This portrait installation is not only a memory of the victims of the war, but also a reminder of the great price of freedom, courage and self-sacrifice and keeping the memory of military personnel alive forever. These are the real Heroes of our time, they are warriors who stood up for good, who protected our land from evil and the black scourge.
