Online training on the topic “Hospitality Without Barriers”

Graduates majoring in “Tourism”, “Tourism and Recreation”, “Hotel and Restaurant Business” and teachers of the Department of Tourism, Hotel and Restaurant Business joined the online training on the topic “Hospitality Without Barriers”.

On September 22, 2023, students majoring in “Tourism”, “Tourism and Recreation”, “Hotel and Restaurant Business” and teachers of the Department of Tourism, Hotel and Restaurant Business joined the online training on the topic “Hospitality Without Barriers” organized by the State Tourism Development Agency of Ukraine for representatives of HoReCa establishments. The training was conducted by Volodymyr Vysotskyi, an expert on architectural accessibility and inclusive social practices.

The main topic of training is how to make your institution barrier-free: architectural accessibility and inclusive services.

During the training, the expert presented a handbook on architectural accessibility and inclusiveness. “Hospitality Without Barriers” (2023). The guide was developed by the universal design studio “ORFO” with the assistance of the tourism management of the Lviv City Council and the State Tourism Development Agency of Ukraine. Guide to creating a barrier-free environment in HoReCa establishments.

The guide was formed on the basis of current state building regulations on inclusivity and the best global practices of accessibility in the tourism sector. It contains all the necessary information to create a barrier-free environment in hotels, restaurants, cafes and other establishments that form the city’s hospitality infrastructure.
