Opportunities for School Leavers from ATO Zone

The Verkhovna Rada considers legislation that will provide the additional opportunities for school leavers form ATO zone to get education.

Parliament is suggested to modify the safeguards of the right to education for the persons whose residence is the territory of anti-terrorist operation. Draft law no. 4350 as of 31.03.2016 is published on the website www.zakonoproekt.org.ua with reference to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

According to it, state provides the additional opportunities for admission to higher educational institutions, passing state final attestation and obtaining state-recognized school-leaving certificate for the persons whose residence is the territory of anti-terrorist operation.

The applicants will be able to obtain school-leaving certificate after passing exams according to the simplified procedure at the territory controlled by Ukraine. Persons with school-leaving certificate can enter any higher educational institution evacuated from the territory of ATO by passing ONLY entrance examinations.

Adoption of the Law of Ukraine “On Changes to Some Laws of Ukraine on Safeguards of the Right to Education for the Persons whose Residence is the Territory of Anti-Terrorist Operation” will allow integrating young, healthy and workable generation from the occupied territories to Ukrainian reality providing them with a full access to Ukrainian education.
