“Happy Holiday, Native Language!”

Events devoted to the Day of Ukrainian Writing and Language were held under the slogan “Happy Holiday, Native Language!”.

The celebration at Starobilsk Professional College of LTSNU and Professional College of LTSNU began with the traditional writing of the All-Ukrainian radio dictation of national unity, which was joined by all students, teachers and employees of educational institutions .

Curators and teachers conducted thematic classes and educational hours, during which students learned a lot of interesting things about the history of their native language. In the classrooms, thematic corners were decorated: portraits of Kobzar, wall newspapers, vivid sayings about the language, and drawings.

The meeting of the students with the country poets of the Lubny region was interesting and exciting. Nina Sherstiuk – secretary of the Lubny Literary Association named after O. Donchenko and Oleksandr Mishchenko – editor-in-chief of the newspaper “Lubenshchyna” read their poems and told a lot of interesting things about the poets and writers of their native region.

The distance learning students took part in the events. Scattered by the war in different parts of the world, they held a flash mob “Native language” and became active participants in a drawing contest.

The events provided an opportunity to touch the sources of the spiritual culture of the native people, to deepen knowledge about the origins of writing and the development of the native language, its spelling; to realize the need to promote one’s own language culture as the duty of every Ukrainian.

The final chord of the holiday was a concert organized by the students. Readers recited poems, told humorous stories, danced, sang Ukrainian songs.
The Ukrainian melody ignited the whole hall with its energy: students and teachers, organizers and guests sang – everyone became a participant.

So, college students once again proved that the native language is the “language of unity”, brotherly love and respect, mutual understanding and support.
