The results of the Ukrainian Language Week have been summarized

The Department of the Ukrainian Language summed up the results of the Ukrainian Language Week.
In the period from October 25 to November 9, the Department of the Ukrainian Language held a thematic marathon “Ukrainian Language Week” within the framework of the Day of Ukrainian Writing and Language, which this year was celebrated for the first time on October 27.
The day before, an informational meeting was held with students on the topic “Traditions of celebrating the Day of Ukrainian Writing and Language at the University”, the program of the week and the conditions of creative competitions were announced.
On October 27, the academic community of the Faculty of Ukrainian Philology and Journalism joined the collective writing of the radio dictation of national unity – 2023, in which both students and teachers traditionally took part.
On November 8-9, the 16th All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference “Slobozhanska Beseda-16” was held, which this year brought together more than 130 participants.
On November 15, the competition commission determined the best works that were submitted for participation in three competitions: for writing a popular science article about a Ukrainian scientist-linguist, for writing a work or a popular science article about the Ukrainian language, for writing a poem about the Ukrainian language.
This year, the grand prize was awarded to Karyna Shevchenko, a 2nd-year students majoring in Ukrainian Language and Literature educational program of the Faculty of Ukrainian Philology and Journalism, who submitted two poems – “Language” and “Speak Ukrainian” – and the essay “Ukrainian language: a treasure that inspires”, dedicated to the beauty, possibilities and richness of the native language.
