Introductory session at the Faculty of Natural Sciences

During the four weeks of October, the Faculty of Natural Sciences held an introductory session for the bachelor’s and master’s students.

According to the schedule of the educational process, students of the faculty’s specialties were invited to the location in the city of Myrhorod, where the Faculty of Natural Sciences will carry out educational activities from 2022.

At the beginning of the session, organizational meetings were held with representatives of the dean’s office and heads of departments. The meetings began with a welcome speech by the dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Nataliia MATSAI, who wished the students perseverance in their studies on the way to obtaining a higher education. At the meetings, students were provided with information about changes in the personnel of the dean’s office and faculty departments, advisors and tutors of academic groups were introduced.

The deputy dean for academic work, Olha GUBSKA, answered the questions regarding the specifics of studying under the relevant educational program, the order of study in accordance with the schedule of the educational process in the current semester. Meetings of educational program guarantors with students also took place. The deputy dean for social and humanitarian work, Vira YAVTUSHENKO, provided information on solving the social issues of students. Further, the work with the groups was continued by the heads of graduation departments, Halyna Yevtushenko, Dmytro Sopov, and the coordinator of the department, Katerynra Berezenko.

Thanks to the clear organization of work at the Faculty, students had the opportunity to perform practical and laboratory classes, work on consultation classes with teachers in classrooms. Taking into account the peculiarities of specialties, the educational process was organized as a complex of classes in classrooms, excursions in nature, to specialized institutions, organizations and farms. The teachers noted the high activity and desire to work among the students. Unexpectedly, the desire to participate in the excursion on landscape design, which was conducted by the teacher of the Department of Landscape Gardenings and Ecology, Serhii SKAKOVSKY, was also expressed by students of other specialties. The excursion was completed in one breath, despite the difficult weather conditions.

The teachers of the Faculty had the opportunity to work with representatives of the communities of Myrhorod and Myrhorod district, held a productive meeting on natural and ecological issues, which provided an opportunity to adjust their scientific activity taking into account local needs.

According to the Faculty of Natural Sciences
