Seminar on academic integrity

A seminar on academic integrity was held for the first-year students of the Faculty of Natural Sciences.

The first-year bachelor’s and master’s students of the Faculty of Natural Sciences took part in the seminar “Academic Integrity – the Path to Professional Success”, which was held online on October 20. The speaker and moderator of the meeting was Iryna KYRPYCHOVA, member of the Ethics and Academic Integrity Commission of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Landscape Gardening and Ecology.

During the meeting, the applicants learned about the principles of academic integrity, procedures and regulatory documentation that govern all participants in the educational process at our university. Academic integrity is critical to academic and ultimately professional success for several reasons. It ensures that our achievements are built on honest and reliable foundations such as:

  • credibility – maintaining academic integrity will help you earn the trust of your colleagues, professional partners and employers, who will be confident that your achievements are genuine and reflect your efforts and knowledge;
  • reputation – academic integrity plays an important role in building reputation in the professional environment and can affect your career opportunities;
  • ethics – obtaining academic integrity shows high moral and ethical standards, it makes us a more attractive professional partner because employers prefer employees who work according to fair and ethical principles;
  • professional development – maintaining academic integrity makes you more competitive in the job market and helps you move forward with confidence in your career, because your efforts during your studies will give you valuable knowledge, professional competences and research, analysis and critical thinking skills.

We wish our students successful and interesting studies!
