Excursion to a printing company

The Design Department visited the Poltava printing company “AstraYa”.

On October 12, Andrii Bolotin, director of the printing company “AstraYa”, conducted an interesting and meaningful tour for the teachers and students of the Design Department. Recently, a cooperation agreement was signed between the printing company and the university, which provides new opportunities for internships for students majoring in the Graphic Design.

The excursion lasted two hours. First, the participants visited the office, where managers place orders, demonstrate products, and discuss the future design of the product. Next was the production itself. It is a two-story building with many printing presses. Students majoring in “Graphic Design” were shown production from small stickers to large-format banner printing, from the production of official ID cards to laser printing on Christmas tree decorations.

And if you answer the questions correctly from the director of the printing company, you will be able to receive a gift in the form of a souvenir mug with the logo of the ER ICA and AstraYa.

The technology of printing on an uneven surface was a surprise. The students saw logos being applied to… a walnut!

The tour ended with a tea party and a reflection on what was seen. Teachers and students received a lot of interesting and useful information and a pleasant bonus – souvenir products with the logo of the Institute and the Department.
