Mind Game “Cossack Fun”

The Mind Game “Cossack Fun” was held for students of Professional College and Starobilsk Professional College of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.

The beginning of this October was rich in a large number of holidays. There are those who combine the principles of statehood and religiosity. This is the Intercession of the Holy Mother of God and the Day of the Defender of Ukraine. These two holidays have been organized since 2015. They include the principles of the struggle for statehood in a difficult time, confrontation with the attacks of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth of the 16th and 18th centuries, and the events of Russian military aggression in 2014, which turned into a full-scale Russian-Ukrainian war.

Students of the Professional College and Starobilsk Professional College of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University talked about all this during the mental game “Cossack Fun” held on October 11. “Cossack Fun” is an example of the intellectual competition of connoisseurs of Ukrainian national and cultural heritage.

During the competition, which had ten stages, first-year students of two colleges competed in the knowledge of chronology, historical terms of the Cossack period, local history pages of the Lubny Territory. They showed examples of Cossack ingenuity and strength, recalled pages from the life and everyday life of Cossacks. The players responsibly approached the tasks of the competition, which was connected with the Ukrainian national folklore of the Cossack period. The teams were responsible for making the right decision during the “Believe it or not?” competition.

The captains of the teams, Kurylo Rostislav (Professional College) and Ivan Pavliuk (Starobilsk Professional College) showed their strength and skill during the arm wrestling competition. The young men also answered the questions of the historical quiz well.

Support groups for college teams assisted the teams during the game whenever possible. The points earned by them were transferred to the coffers of the participating teams.

Teams of participants in the mental game “Cossack Fun” were awarded certificates. Everyone won. There were no losers. And this is a sign that respect for the historical and national-cultural heritage is the duty of each succeeding generation.

Our ancestors did not forget about it!

We will not forget about it!
