Workshop “Design Thinking”

The Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Nataliia MATSAI, took part in the two-day workshop “Design Thinking”.

Today, one of the problems of displaced educational institutions is the integration of the student and teaching staff into the host communities. In order to optimize this process and to reduce the increase in cohesion, teachers actively undergo various thematic training.

The “Unity for Action” program, which is being implemented today in 25 communities in 15 regions of Ukraine, aims to unite HEIs, members of host communities, and the government in order to unite and develop local and national plans for integration and stabilization of the situation in Ukraine. The program is implemented by the International Research and Exchange Council (IREX in Ukraine) together with the Charitable Organization “Stabilization Support Services” Charitable Foundation and with the support of the US State Department.

One of the main tools of the programme are seminars and trainings on the implementation of social projects, advocacy of the rights and interests of HEIs, as well as the exchange of experience between activists from different areas.
As part of this program, a series of two-day workshops was held in the cities of 15 regions of Ukraine. The goal is to master the “Design Thinking” methodology when writing projects.

During the workshop, the participants got acquainted with the “Design Thinking” methodology, considered the process of creating innovative solutions, learned about ways to avoid the failure of ideal projects. With the help of various practical and creative tasks. The participants went through a full cycle from identifying needs to generating ideas and finding non-standard solutions. The new knowledge pushed the members of the created teams to develop socially useful and important projects for the communities in which they live and work.
