Technical picnic for ship modelers of Kyiv region

The teachers of the Department of Production Technologies and Professional Education attended a technical picnic for ship modelers of the Kyiv region.

On September 24, 2023, the head of the Department of Production Technologies and Professional Education Viktor Burdun and the assistant of the Department Anastasia Rozhkova visited a technical picnic, which was organized for students and leaders of ship model groups of extracurricular educational institutions of Kyiv region within the framework of the regional educational cluster “Techno space”. The event took place in the water area “CHARACTER park” of the Vyshniv territorial community and was organized by the Vyshniv City Center of Scientific and Technical Creativity of Schoolchildren “Chance”, which is a partner of the Department of Production Technologies and Professional Education. 

In addition to the hosts, the teams of ship model clubs of the Vasylkiv City Station of Young Technicians, the Pereiaslav Club of Young Sailors, the Baryshiv Center for Extracurricular Work “Mriia”, the Yagotyn House of Children’s and Youth Creativity, and the Kyiv Center for Technical Creativity “Yunist” took part in the technical picnic.

The main judge of the competition was the judge of the International category Vitalii Volodymyrovych Kvartirmeister.

The technical picnic began with master classes of teachers in managing radio-controlled models. In parallel with the demonstration runs, there was an evaluation of stand models – participants of the competition. After that, the competition of students of ship model circles began. The children launched the models with great joy, because this is the first competition since the start of the coronavirus and the war.

At the end of the technical picnic, the winners were awarded medals, diplomas and prizes from the Vyshiv City Council, Municipal Institution “Municipal Security” of the Vyshniv Territorial Community, and the Public Organization “Start with Yourself!”.

Viktor Burdun and Anastasia Rozhkova, together with the guests, witnessed the incredible action of launching unique ship models, uncompromising sportsmanship, which demonstrated the brilliant endurance and indomitable thirst for victory of the participants of the competition.

The representatives of the Department of Production Technologies and Professional Education got acquainted with one of the main areas of work of the Vyshniv City Center of Schoolchildren’s Scientific and Technical Creativity  “Chance” – ship modeling; learned about the author’s method of the leader of the Melnychuk circle, Volodymyr Vasyliovych, for making working ship models from foam plastic and household waste. They learned in more detail about the principle of operation of radio-controlled yacht models, the principle of manufacturing foam and plastic vessels. At the competition, a model of the “Liberty” dry cargo truck, completely printed on a 3D printer, was presented.

University representatives also got to know Pavlo Ashykhmin – master of sports of Ukraine of the international class. From 2000 to 2014, he was a member of the national team of model ship sports of Ukraine, bronze medalist of the world championship, silver medalist of the European championship of model ship sports. Currently, he is the head of the “Ship Modeling” circle of the Vyshniv City Center of Schoolchildren’s Scientific and Technical Creativity “Chance”.

We hope for further close cooperation between our Department and the Vyshniv City Center of Schoolchildren’s Scientific and Technical Creativity “Chance”.
