The Olympic week continues

The Olympic week continues with the participation of the Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports.

On September 14, 2023, on the occasion of the Day of Physical Culture and Sports, as well as within the framework of the Olympic Week, the Luhansk Regional Branch of the Committee for Physical Education and Sports of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine together with the Luhansk Regional Branch of the NOC of Ukraine and the Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports, organized an extraordinary event for students of Lyceum No. 8 in Rubizhne city, Luhansk region.

The guest of the event was Mykola Barannik, a leading Ukrainian athlete, member of the national powerlifting team of Ukraine, honored master of sports, silver medalist of the 2022 World Games, world record holder, two-time world champion, European champion, as well as a teacher of the Department of Olympic and Professional Sports of the Institute of Physical Education and Sports of LTSNU. 

The event was celebrated as a holiday of physical activity and sports, opened up new horizons for students and provided an opportunity to hear a success story that inspires and tells us that life is multifaceted and can give us the highest achievements. The participants of the event had the opportunity to listen to the story of Mykola, who shared his own experience and inspires young people to achieve great goals.

Also on this day, the Olympic lesson “Olympic Champions of Independent Ukraine” was organized.

Luhansk region has always been famous for its athletes, who are an integral part of Ukraine’s sports glory. Sportsmen’s names become symbols of victory, strength and endurance, so the organizers of the event showed the young generation examples of successful athletes who made incredible achievements in sports and emphasized the importance of physical activity and education of spiritual values through sports. Among the guests were the Olympic bronze medalist Iryna Yanovych and the Director of the Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports of LTSNU Oleksandr Dubovoi.

The presentation about the Olympic champions of Ukraine and the prize-winners of the Olympic Games from the Luhansk region showed the success stories and difficulties that the athletes overcame on the way to great achievements.

All participants of the event were impressed with the information they received during the Olympic lesson. The organizers managed to prove to the students the need to value hard work and perseverance, which are needed to achieve success in any business, and to emphasize that sports are the basis of health and personal development.

These events highlighted the importance of sport and a healthy lifestyle for the younger generation and its unifying power in our society.

Sports have always been one of the means of uniting a nation, and the Olympic Games are a special celebration of sports and patriotism. Participation in the Olympic Games is always a huge responsibility and an honorable right. Ukraine can be proud of its athletes who won hundreds of medals and gave us numerous unforgettable moments. These events inspired young people to an active sports lifestyle and showed what opportunities are available to anyone who is ready to work on themselves and dedicate themselves to sports.

And remember, a healthy mind is in a healthy body! Taking care of your own health only makes you better. We will all need a lot of strength for victory and after it, so self-care is not a luxury, but a necessity. Train and take care!
