Prize winners of the Summer Universiade of Ukraine

Students of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University are the winners of the Ukrainian Summer Greco-Roman Wrestling Universiade among the teams of higher education institutions.

From August 26 to 27, 2023, the final competitions of the XVIII Summer Universiade of Ukraine in Greco-Roman Wrestling were held at the sports base of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Center for Physical Education of School Youth among 77 higher education graduates from 15 regions of Ukraine.

The state institution “Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University” was represented by bachelor’s and master’s students of the Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports, specialty “Physical Culture and Sports” Sviatoslav Kalashnikov, Danylo Korneiev, Stanislav Maltsev and Yevhen Pokovba.

According to the results of the competition, Sviatoslav Kalashnikov won the silver award in the weight category up to 130 kg.

Danylo KORNEIEV won a bronze award in the weight category up to 60 kg.

Stanislav MALTSEV took the 5th place in the weight category up to 82 kg.

Athletes are trained by Dmytro Valentinovych Pikalov and Serhii Oleksandrovych Korotkykh.
