Entrance Competences Assessment Interview for Foreign Citizens

The Institute of International Education conducted the first Entrance Competences Assessment Interview for foreign citizens who are enrolled in university studies in the 2023 calendar year remotely.

In view of the Procedure for Admission to Higher Education in 2023 in the part “Chapter XIV. Peculiarities of Admission to Higher Education Institutions of Foreigners and Stateless Persons”, “Subsection 3. Admission of foreigners to study can be carried out face-to-face and/or remotely”, as well as ADMISSION RULES for Higher Education at the State Institution “Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University” in 2023, the Institute of International Education, headed by the Director, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Iryna V. Myhovych, on August 10, 2023, held the first of many Entrance Competences Assessment Interviews for foreign citizens who are enrolled to study at the university in 2023 remotely.

The entrance examination conducted as videoconference with a recording was opened by the Rector of the university, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Olena L. Karaman, who emphasized the advantages of studying at our University and wished the entrants success. The format of the entrance examination included an outline of the institution’s vision for the remote provision of educational services to foreign citizens, provided by the Head of the Institutional Commission for conducting entrance interviews for foreign citizens who are enrolled remotely, Ms. Iryna Myhovych.

On August 10, 2023, the Commission also included: Ihor V. Aksonov, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor of the Department of Biology and Agronomy (Faculty of Natural Sciences); Yurii V. Zhuchok, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Algebra and System Analysis (Educational and Scientific Institute of Physics, Mathematics and Information Technologies); Oleksandr V. Dubovoi, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Olympic and Professional Sports, Director of Educational and Scientific Institute of Physical Education and Sports; Dmytro V. Uzhchenko, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Philological Disciplines (Educational and Scientific Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology); Larysa L. Kolesnykova, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Ukrainian Language (Faculty of Ukrainian Philology and Journalism); Victoriia V. Maltseva, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Finance, Accounting and Banking (Educational and Scientific Institute of Economics and Business); Anatolii V. Mishyn, Lecturer of the Department of Cultural Studies and Film and Television Arts (Educational and Scientific Institute of Culture and Arts).

The entrance examination of this format aims to critically analyze the level of English language knowledge of the future student – a foreign citizen – as well as his academic background. The examination was passed by 15 foreign applicants from the People’s Republic of China, Armenia and Turkmenistan according to the following educational programs (EPs) / specialties: EP Finance, Banking and Insurance of the specialty 072 Finance, Banking, Insurance and Stock Market; EP Musical Arts of the specialty 014 Secondary Education; EP Choreography of the specialty 024 Choreography; EP Musical Arts of the specialty 025 Musical Arts; EP Psychology of the specialty 053 Psychology; EP Computer Science and Information Technology of the specialty 122 Computer Science; EP Computer Networks of the specialty 123 Computer Engineering; EP Chemistry of the specialty 102 Chemistry; EP Journalism of the specialty 061 Journalism.
