LTSNU signed a framework agreement on cooperation with the University of Barcelona

LTSNU signed a framework agreement on institutional cooperation with the University of Barcelona (Universitat de Barcelona), Barcelona, Spain.

The signing of the Agreement is an indicator of the formation of the institutional policy of the university, taking into account nationalization, since diplomatic relations between Ukraine and the Kingdom of Spain were established in 1992 by signing a joint communique in Prague, and in 1996, an Agreement was signed between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the Kingdom of Spain on cooperation in the field of education, science and culture, which strengthened the bilateral partnership of the countries in the cultural and humanitarian sphere. For many years, the political dialogue, cooperation in all directions, and the relevant contractual and legal framework have been steadily established between the countries.

The University of Barcelona (https://web.ub.edu/inici) is a higher education institution in Spain that was founded in 1450, it is among the top 200 universities in the world and occupies the 6th position in the ranking of the best universities in Spain. The educational process at the university is conducted in Spanish and Catalan, Catalan is the official language of the university. Strong areas of university activity: anatomy and physiology, archaeology, natural and mathematical sciences, medicine, pharmacology, psychology, engineering. The university is the most powerful scientific centre in Spain, which has been repeatedly evaluated according to the CYD rating (http://rankingcyd.org/) as an educational institution with the greatest number of scientific achievements and research projects. As of 2022, the number of university students was 63,000.

The signing of the agreement for a period of 4 years (with further extension) is one of the steps of the institutional cooperation of the two educational institutions, which was successfully implemented thanks to the joint efforts of the heads of the international offices of the two universities – Mr. Raul Ramos, Vice-Rector for Internationalization Policy at the University of Barcelona and Ms. Iryna Myhovych, Head of the International Relations Office, Acting Director of the Institute of International Education of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University with the active assistance of the Head of the Department of Production Technologies and Professional Education, Mr. Viktor Burdun. The areas of prospective cooperation have been identified: promotion of bottom-up initiatives in scientific, educational and administrative spheres of activity of institutions; introduction of various forms of mobility; participation in joint conferences, forums, etc.
