Golden medals at the 2023 European Games

The first-year student of the Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports won gold at the 2023 EUROPEAN GAMES.

The Ukrainian national team started the tournament in Poland by winning the team competition. Ksenia Bailo, a 1st-year bachelor’s student majoring in “Physical Culture and Sports” of the Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports, also took part in this discipline.

Acting as part of the national team of Ukraine, Ksenia Bailo together with Kyrylo Boliukh won golden medal in synchronized diving from a 10-meter platform among mixed teams. Ukrainian athletes scored 322.68 points in the final. Ksenia and Kyrylo coped with the task. For them, the sum of 322.68 points is a record they scored together.

According to the rules of diving competitions at the EUROPEAN GAMES-2023, each team had to perform six jumps on a three-meter springboard and a 10-meter platform: in individual categories among men and women and in mixed pairs.

In synchronized diving from the three-meter springboard, Anna Pysmenska, a graduate of the Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports, majoring in “Physical Culture and Sport”, performed in a pair with Oleksii Sereda, strengthening Ukraine’s leadership at the equator of the final. Ksenia Bailo added more points on the platform.

The Ukrainian team entered the top 3 after Ksenia Bailo’s first jump on the springboard, which was rated at 60.75 b. After Danylo Konovalov’s second with 68.25 points, the “blue-yellow” became the leaders and kept the first position until the end of the competition.

This is the first European golden medal in the history of Ukraine in the mixed team. Before that, the record of the “blue-yellow” in the competition of this format was the “silver” of the last Euro-2022.
