“Institutional Capacity of the State: Evaluation Parameters”

On June 20, Anton Bader, director of the Institute of History, International Relations and Socio-Political Sciences, and Svitlana Vovk, head of the Department of Political Science and Law, took an active part in the round table “Institutional Capacity of the State: Evaluation Parameters.”

This event was organized by the I. F. Kuras Institute of Political and Ethnonational Studies of the NAS of Ukraine.

The I.F. Kuras Institute of Political and Ethnic Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (until 1997 – the Institute of National Relations and Political Science of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine) was established by the decision of the Presidium of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine on December 11, 1991.

The Institute was created for the purpose of in-depth and comprehensive development of problems that gained special importance after the declaration of Ukraine’s independence. It is about the modern dynamics of political institutions and processes, the relationship between politics and ethno-national relations, the need to develop new paradigms of ethnic development, conflict prevention in the ethno-national sphere, modeling optimal options for ethno-politics, technologies for managing the spheres of political and inter-ethnic relations, conducting an examination of draft laws, state and non-state development programs in various spheres of social life.

Anton Bader and Svitlana Vovk were active participants in the discussion, which was lively discussed by the participants of the round table.

The development and improvement of institutional capacity should be a permanent task for the state, as it contributes to the creation of a favorable investment sphere and business environment, ensures citizens’ trust in state bodies and contributes to the development of society as a whole. The way to success lies in the constant improvement and strengthening of the institutional base of the state to ensure sustainable and uniform development of all spheres of society.
