Scientific and methodological seminar was held at the Department of Public Service and Management of Educational and Social Institutions.

On June 8, 2023, Associate Professor, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences Olga Ptakhina held a scientific and methodical seminar at the Department of Public Service and Management of Educational and Social Institutions of the Educational and Research Institute of Public Management, Administration and Postgraduate Education. The seminar was devoted to a very relevant topic, namely: “Creating an inclusive educational environment for adults”.

In modern conditions, there is an urgent need to train teachers to work with applicants who have special needs. The importance of this problem is determined at the level of the Ministry of Education and Science, which developed the project of the National Strategy for the Development of Inclusive Education for 2020-2030, the plan of measures for its implementation and methodical recommendations for creating an inclusive educational environment in a higher education institution.

The speaker clarified the main concepts, principles of adult education, the main tasks of the National Strategy for the Development of Inclusive Education for 2020-2030, modern methods of ensuring the accessibility of education for people with special needs. Thus, the “inclusive educational environment” was considered as a set of conditions, methods and means of their implementation for joint learning, upbringing and development of students, taking into account their needs and capabilities. The workshop provides examples of the application of universal design for the preparation of presentations for persons with special needs, the main terms of accessibility according to the WAI, which formulates specifications, rules, methods and supporting resources that describe solutions for ensuring the web accessibility of web content (WCAG) 2.0, which is also the standard of the international ISO quality system: ISO/IEC 40500.
