Participation in the “Educational Leadership Days” Forum

Teachers of the Faculty of Natural Sciences took part in the work of the All-Ukrainian Forum “Educational Leadership Days”.

From June 1 to 3, 2023, the All-Ukrainian Forum “Educational Leadership Days” was held in a mixed format on the basis of Zaporizhia Polytechnic National University. Nataliia Matsai, Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Iryna Kyrpychova, Deputy Dean for Scientific Work, Halyna Yevtushenko, head of the Department of Biology and Agronomy took part in the work of the forum.

The forum was opened by the rector of the host university, Viktor Greshta, the head of the Zaporizhia Regional Council, Olena Zhuk, and the head of the subcommittee on higher education of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine’s Committee on Education, Science and Innovation, Yuliya Hryshyna.

During the welcoming speech, they expressed their hopes for the effectiveness of the event and its positive impact on the process of development of the educational and scientific environment.

The invited guests of the forum were the Chairman of the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance Andrii Butenko and the Deputy Chairman Olena Yeremenko.

The plenary part of the forum was attended by the President of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Vasyl Kremen, the Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Mykhailo Ivan Vynnytskyi, the head of the National Qualifications Agency Yurii Balanyuk, the head of the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance Andrii Butenko, as well as the head of the National Agency of Ukraine for Civil Service Natalia Aliushina.

The speakers mentioned the history of the formation of Ukrainian higher education, called for active discussions on the topics of progressive and high-quality scientific activity, and also discussed the problems of adapting education to modern demands.

At the main part of the event, general attention was focused on the topics of personal leadership, micro-qualifications, academic integrity, modern approaches to scientific activity, as well as digitalization of the teaching process.

During the forum, the session “Accreditation of Educational Programs: Questions and Answers” was held; Andrii Butenko and Olena Yeremenko answered the questions of scientists and teachers. The participants of the event shared their experience of ensuring the quality of education under martial law. Urgent issues of accreditation of educational programs were discussed. The issue of prospects for the implementation of the third mission of universities and the formalization of its assessment process as a component of institutional accreditation was also raised. After all, in wartime conditions, the social role of universities is becoming more and more relevant.

The program of the forum considered topical issues in the following directions: University for leadership – university for the development of the leadership potential of society, social mission and pro-social activities of universities, life-long learning; World-class university – competitiveness of the university in the context of internationalization, cooperation with partners and stakeholders, digitalization, university rankings; Leadership in the university – management and governance in education, strategic planning of the internal systems of education quality assurance, process approach to management of educational programs, development of pedagogical skills, student-centered learning and teaching, creation of a motivational educational environment.
