Meeting with the head of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine

Students of the Faculty of Foreign Languages attended a meeting with the head of the NUJU Serhii Tomilenko.

On May 31, 2023, Vice Dean for Social and Humanitarian Affairs Olha Korinska and students of the Faculty of Foreign Languages attended a meeting with Serhii Tomilenko, head of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine, Honored Journalist of Ukraine. The event took place at the Poltava University of Economics and Trade. 

The meeting was attended by Viktor Kikot, a member of the board of the public organization “Poltava Regional Organization of the Union of Journalists of Ukraine” and Vitalii Skobelskyi, deputy editor of the newspaper “Poltava Visnyk”.

The speaker talked about activities in wartime conditions, support for print media in today’s realities, etc. After the report, the speaker gladly answered the audience’s questions. At the end of the meeting, all those willing were invited to try on a bulletproof vest and a military helmet of a media worker.

It was incredibly interesting for students of the Faculty of Foreign Languages to listen to Mr. Tomilenko’s speech, since philology and journalism are related fields.
