Field practice for master’s students

On June 2, the Department of Chemistry, Geography and Earth Sciences held a defense of the results of the field practice on the study of geological heritage sites.
The defense took place among the 1st year master’s students majoring in 103 Earth Sciences (head of field practice – Dmytro Sopov, Ph.D. in Earth Sciences, acting head of the Department of Chemistry, Geography and Earth Sciences).
The purpose of the practice was to master the methodology of studying and evaluating geological sights, their classification, the peculiarities of studying each group of objects; acquainting master’s students with the procedure of bequeathing sights and organizing activities for their protection and preservation.
Based on the results of field practice, students learned to conduct research and evaluation of sights, to determine their most vulnerable aspects, as well as the procedure for bequest and further supervision.
The Department of Chemistry, Geography and Earth Sciences hopes that the master’s students’ knowledge acquired during field practice will help them in the development of Luhansk region, after its complete de-occupation from the enemy invasion, and in Ukraine as a whole.
