Approval of the EP specialty 017 “Physical Culture and Sport”

On May 31, an open meeting was held at the Department of Olympic and Professional Sports of the ER IPES, the topic of which was the approval of the Educational Program of the specialty 017 “Physical Culture and Sports”.

In addition to the guarantor and developers of the educational program, the following were present at the meeting:
- teachers of the Department of Olympic and Professional Sports;
- teachers who provide teaching of the educational components of this educational program;
- representatives of the Pedagogy Department and the Psychology Department;
- Departments of Anatomy, Human and Animal Physiology;
- Departments of Chemistry, Geography and Earth Sciences;
- teachers of the Educational and Research Institute of History, International Relations and Social and Political Sciences;
- heads of children’s and youth sports schools and sports organizations of the Luhansk region – EP stakeholders;
- student representative.
The head of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports Management of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Vasyl Mazin was also invited as a guest of the meeting as a consultant.
At the beginning of the meeting, EP guarantor Tetiana Poluliashchenko analyzed the EP project submitted for approval. Tetiana Pashko, head of the Psychology Department, and Olena Boiarchuk, head of the Physiology Department, expressed their vision regarding the teaching of the disciplines “Sports Psychology”, “Sports Psychophysiology”.
As a conclusion, Vasyl Mazin, Professor of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University, expressed his vision of the EP and gave a positive feedback, offering the faculty of the department and members of the project group to support the submitted EP project.
Stakeholders paid special attention to the analysis of practices from introductory to professional orientation. Effective interaction of the professor-teaching staff of the institute with stakeholders made it possible to implement end-to-end practice from the second to the fourth year of study.
The representative of the student body, Mykola Yakimets, noted the importance of the educational component “Sports Medicine”, which was not taught before, and is now added to the new EP.
Summarizing the results of the discussion and taking into account the submitted proposals, a decision was made by open vote to approve the submitted EP project.
